Christmas is just around the corner, which means everything ramps up a notch and our health is often set aside. If this time of year stresses you out, you’re not alone, it’s called the Silly Season for a reason!

Here’s some tips to help you stay mentally fit and healthy during what can a stressful few weeks.

Why is it that the majority of people, regardless of the city or country they live, are not doing what they love to do? Those that pursue their dreams, life goals and passions are courageous, but are generally few and far between.

Do you know what separates the dreamers and the doers? The dreamers don’t believe in themselves, they listen to the naysayers and they hold onto fear.....

We'll we are coming to the end of the first month of the new year, where did that month go? This leads me to ask you these questions. How are your new year resolutions going? Have you started them? Are you on your way? Are you still procrastinating? 

What I want you to do is focus on what's important to you right now... What is the first idea, hunch, insight that comes to you? Have you got it? Now let's focus your effort and energy on that.

If you want this year to be your year, focus is the key. I want you to stop giving your energy to the past or the future. If you want this year to be the best of your life, you must focus on the now.

Without a clear purpose the status quo will continue, regardless if you are seeking change in your career, fitness or relationships. Understand this will not give you the change you are searching for, it won't stop the confusion or fill the emptiness within your soul.

Let go of the distractions and any activity which takes you away from what you want to achieve. You must evaluate what activities are essential and which aren't. It's here you will find your purpose.

Every successful person I know, the person that is happy and has purpose, say the same thing - it comes down to focus and discipline. 

I want you to do less, do what matters most to you and only you. Don't confuse activity with productivity. Remember purpose always produces passion. Where you have passion you have direction, you will receive purpose and when you have purpose you will have meaning!

To quote George Bernard Shaw, "This is the true joy of life: the being used up for a purpose recognised by yourself as a mighty one; being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clot of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy."
